Warm Springs / South Fremont (BART station)

Warm Springs / South Fremont (originally simply Warm Springs) is an at-grade BART station under construction in the Warm Springs district of Fremont. The station is targeted to open in late 2016.
Construction of the Warm Springs extension began in 2009,〔(【引用サイトリンク】On schedule and under budget )
but is delayed.〔 As of early 2011, the start of revenue service was targeted for late 2014. As of late 2011 through mid-2015, the opening was scheduled for the end of 2015. As of June 2015, the opening was expected in early 2016. As of September 2015, the schedule was no longer available and hard to predict, In November 2015, the third rail was powered on,〔()〕 and the physical completion of construction was delayed from the end of 2015 to the spring of 2016. The systems testing phase, previously scheduled to take nine months,〔(【引用サイトリンク】Project Schedule by Phase )〕 will take longer than expected.〔
The station will have an at-grade island platform with an overhead concourse, transit connections to AC Transit and VTA, 2,000 parking spaces on 34 acres at ground level, taxi stands, and drop-off zones.
In 2011 the city of Fremont approved $US 90,000 to lobby against construction of a Union Pacific rail yard adjacent to the station, arguing that the rail yard would hinder transit oriented development.

This station is the southern end of the BART Warm Springs BART extension under construction, adding of track from the existing Fremont BART station, including a subway under man-made Lake Elizabeth and Fremont Central Park. South of Central Park, the line parallels the existing at-grade right-of-way belonging to Union Pacific. Major crossings of both Union Pacific and BART, such as Paseo Padre Parkway and Washington Boulevard, are grade separated. Construction of the underground part of the line was completed in 2012.
Construction of the extension to San Jose from the Warm Springs / South Fremont station began in summer 2012, with Milpitas and Berryessa stations planned to open in 2018.
